Scholastic National Gold Medal - Jordan Smith!

I am overjoyed to share that Jordan Smith's design submitted to this year Scholastic Art and Writing Awards has received a National Gold Medal!

This award places her work in the top 1% of the nearly 340,000 works entered in this years Scholastic Art and Writing competition! Work was selected by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts for excellence in originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. As a National Medalist, Jordan's work will be published in the Online Galleries at artandwriting.org in June. Jordan will also be listed in the 2019 Scholastic Yearbook, a companion publication to The Best Teen Art and The Best Teen Writing anthologies. I am so excited to accompany Jordan to Carnegie Hall in New York City early June where Jordan will be recognized at this years National Awards Ceremony! This is a first in my entire teaching career, I can't stress how rare and exceptional this award is! Way to go Jordan!
