About the Senior Show and Memory Book

Senior Show

Students in the Visual Arts program participate in four years of intense exploration of the art making and discovery process. Students learn to communicate their ideas and reactions to the real world through the lens of  a Visual Artist. Their journey culminates in the annual Senior Show exhibiting artworks that highlight the growth each student has made in both their emerging technical ability and the development of their artistic voice. Works from all four of their years in the program are included in the exhibition. The Senior Show is held on campus and is hosted by the Art Students for their families, friends, campus staff, and stakeholders to come experience the show and view a timeline of each student's individual development.

Memory Book

Each Senior contributes a page to the annual Art Strand Memory Book which highlights the individual, an artwork that best defines their artistic voice, and farewell statement to their class

Timeline and Process

February

Students should start gathering all physical work that they would like to enter into the Senior Show and separate it from their ongoing physical portfolios. Digital work must be collected in a Google Drive folder to be shared with their teachers.

March

Seniors provide their teachers a digital picture of themselves, their favorite work, and a written farewell statement to be printed on their page of the Art Strand Memory Book. Digital work and physical work must be shared with teachers who jury each student's entries to curate the final works displayed in the Senior Show.

April

Seniors delegate hosting duties and work after school alongside their teachers to ensure that each work is printed, matted, and hung in the gallery space in preparation for the show. Announcements and invitations are sent out before Seniors actually host the show in late April!
