I am so proud to announce that Anthony Abarca's photograph titled: Love Affair has won the American Visions Nominee Award through the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards! His award winning image is pictured below!
Anthony and I were contacted last week to be interviewed by Carol Vaughn from the Harris County Department of Education regarding his American Visions Nominee award. The article has been published and I am proud to share it with you all in the link below! Great job Anthony!
Anthony's work is one of five works nominated of over 5,500 regional entries in this years Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. He will be honored at the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Ceremony on Thursday, March 26, at The Ballroom at Bayou Place where he will also be awarded $250!
Anthony's work is now in the running for the National American Visions Awards which is decided by a panel of jurors in New York City and will be announced on March 16th. If he wins the National Award he would be celebrated during the National Exhibition in New York City. Please keep those fingers crossed!
