Rodeo Student Art Contest 18-19

Parent Night Reception for Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Student Artwork was held at MOC last week and Carver represented the district well! We had 4 student Finalists and 10 Blue Ribbons!

As always, the Carver Art Department is so proud of the hard the work and pride these students put into their work. It is always nice to see that their hard work is rewarded and recognized.

Please understand that not all of these students were "born with talent", but that they have honed a skill. These students have studied techniques, spent countless hours working, looking, and absorbing the world around them and have then learned how to interpret what they see and put it onto paper. They have not thrown the towel in and said “oh well, I can only draw stick figures so that's as much knowledge as I have or will ever have in art”. They have worked through their insecurities, their doubts, their fears and yes, even tears to come out the other side with pride in themselves and their work. And yes, pride in their new found talent!
