The O'Kane Gallery at the University of Houston-Downtown gives Houston area high school students an opportunity to show and compete for substantial cash prizes in a university gallery setting. It also provides the entire UHD community, and the general public, an opportunity to see that these students produce high quality artwork. The exhibit is juried by Houston arts professionals.
The exhibition offers interaction with our community at large and hopefully encourages development, professionalism, and an interest in higher education.
