Each year the Houston Bar Association organizes student contests with a theme relating directly to social justice and this year our amazing visual artists have swept the board! This year's theme is: "Advancing the Rule of Law Now; What, if any, steps do you feel still need to be taken to improve upon the rule of law to make it more fair and just for all?"

Photography students only had the two weeks between this year's freeze and spring break to research and identify personal connections to instances of social injustice, determine how they were going to talk about these complex topics using only a single still image and a title, and coordinate photo shoots in meaningful locations with models and props. I am so proud of not only our winning participants but all of our students who were able to spring into action and produce entries in time for this contest!
