SPA Student Art Contest Awards Announced! 20-21

We received tentative results on Friday for the 23rd annual Wells Fargo Student Art Contest organized by the Society of Performing Arts (SPA) and we are over the moon!

With an honorable mention, a first place in Division D (grades 9-11) and TWO top three or best in show placements in Division E (grades 12) It is safe to say that Carver Visual Art Students are a force to be reckoned with!!

The placements in Division E will be announced on Monday, March 3rd at 6:30 during the virtual award ceremony. These Students either won 1st-3rd or BEST IN SHOW - my fingers will be crossed till next week!!

Submissions for this contest were originally due the week following the state wide freeze. We contacted the organizers requesting an extension and after some back and forth it was pushed back two weeks. While I'm thankful for the extension the subtext was that we really had to show up and we still did not have near enough time to refocus students and get contest ready work produced and ready for submission. I am so happy that our students rose to the challenge in a big way!
