Bishop Pearsall's photograph, A Broken Branch was selected by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee as this years Congressional Art Competition winner!

Bishop received two round trip tickets to Washington DC to attend the Congressional Art Competition Awards Ceremony and his Image will be displayed in the United States Capitol for the entire year!

Bishop describes his powerful photograph with the following statement:

"This piece is quite simplistic but carries a very real message, being composed only of a man of color and an American flag it pays homage to the original concept of justice being "blind". This is a depiction of reality, where justice is not blind, but rather an American illusion that blinds those who are not privileged enough to receive it. In modern American society, people of color live their lives by a flag that will not protect them nor their rights, consistently blinded by the illusion of American freedom."
